Disk Checking
 
The Built in Windows Disk Checker is a tool that performs a rigorous check on your hard drive to ensure it is still running properly and without problems. It is good to perform such a check atleast once a month to ensure that your Hard Drive is still in excellent condition. To read more about how a Hard Drive works, please click the link below:
'Running CHKDSK'
1. Open ‘My Computer'
2. Select your Main hard drive (usually labeled ‘C: Local Disk')
3. Right Click this icon to display the menu and click ‘properties'
4. This will display a window with 6 tabs. Select the tab labeled ‘Tools'

5. Select ‘Check Now...'

Select 'Automatically fix file system errors' and 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors'
Then Click 'Start'
7. It is strongly recommended that you do not run any programs or do any web browsing during disk checking.
8. Once Complete, your system should run more efficiently.
