Network Wiring/Network Cabling

Whether you are looking to set up a traditional wired / cable type network, a wireless network, or a combination of the two, The Computer Hospital can help. We have trained cable technicians that can wire your home or office, set up your network, provide security, and even set up file and printer sharing capabilities to make life easier and more convenient for you.

Today's network technology allows many options for connecting not only your computers but also your printers, music, and video. Typical networking is through the use of traditional network cable know as category 5 ethernet cable. It comes in two main varieties - plenum and pvc. The primary difference between the two is that should the building catch fire when plenum burns it does not create toxic fumes whereas when pvc burns, a gas is created that is very toxic. PVC is generally much cheaper. So consider the application and whether this fact should play a factor in your decision to select cable.

Most people don't realize that their house is alreay wired or cabled. Tecnology known as ethernet over powerline (eopl) is now avaiable which combines the best of all networking technology worlds. This technology uses your existing powerlines built into every home to transfer the network signal to just about any where it needs to go. Futher this technology will work wired and wirelessly with the proper equipment.

And then there is wireless. The final technology. No wires... Just what everyone wants. Unfortunately it's not perfect and for those technically challenged it can be a nightmare. Neverthess it has it's place.

These days just about anything can be shared or transported over ethernet.

Network printer sharing allows for it's users to print through their network, therefore eliminating the need for a printer to be connected to the computer that you are trying to print from. The printer simply has to be connected to one of the computers in your network, or it can even be set up by our technicians to be connected to your network without being connected to a computer at all.

File sharing works exactly the same way. You can make files available to everyone on your network. This can save you a lot of resources, time and can make things a lot more convenient.
