1) Please mention in your post that you have already read this announcement and followed the directions, otherwise your post and log will be ignored.

2) Setup and scan with Ad-Aware SE 1.06 EXACTLY as shown HERE .

3) Setup and scan with Spybot Search & Destroy 1.4 EXACTLY as shown HERE .

4) Download and run CWShredder 2.15 using the Fix-> button.

5) Install and run CrapCleaner , or CleanUp they are both excellent FREE tools to clean out temporary, and junk files.

6) Unless you are already using Kaspersky Antivirus (i.e. if you are using Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro etc.) then please do a FREE online virus scan from Kaspersky Webscan , make sure to check the option to use the EXTENDED DATABASE!

7) Download the FREE 30-day trial of SpySweeper4.0 , update it and do a full system scan, it is not necessary to use the real-time protection.

8) Windows 2000 and XP users ONLY : Download Ewido Security Suite 3.5 and set it up and scan as shown HERE . Please save the Ewido log/report,then post a copy of it, when posting your Hijack This log .

9) It is a good idea to run the WinSock XP Fix , this will reset your Winsock driver which some malware corrupts (if you run this you will have to redo any internet connection tweaks you may have previously set).

10) Once you have properly cleaned your pc please install SpywareBlaster 3.4 to help prevent future infections.

11) Install ALL of the latest Windows Updates, (we recommend including Service Pack 2). The following three items are advisory:

• If you are not using a firewall already then install one immediately, even if it's only turning on XP's built in firewall. If you want an excellent FREE software firewall we suggest Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5

• If you are not using an antivirus program and do not have the money to purchase one, we recommend you install and setup AVG 7.0 FREE EXACTLY as shown HERE another FREE option is Avast 4 Home .

• If you are looking to purchase an antivirus program we suggest you try Kaspersky Personal 5 Antivirus and set it up EXACTLY as shown HERE . They also offer a FREE 30 day full working trial, Kaspersky is unsurpassed with it's malware detection rate.


Once you have done ALL of the abovenine items and if you're still having problems you should post a HijackThis Log.

Here is how to properly use HijackThis: Download HijackThis 1.99.1 , make a new folder on your hard drive named HijackThis and move HijackThis into it. Open HijackThis and select "scan" when the scan is finished the "scan" button will change to "save log". Now select the "save log" button and save your log to your hard drive. Then copy and paste the results here into the Hijack This forum. Also post a copy of the Ewido Security Suite log you saved earlier.
